AGM (lead-acid) batteries

AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries are a type of sealed lead acid battery where the electrolyte is in glass fibers (AGM material) placed between the plates and cells of the battery. This creates a more stable environment for storage and transfer of charge, and improves safety and resistance to damage.

AGM batteries typically have a higher energy density, which allows them to store more energy per unit mass than other types of lead-acid batteries. They also offer higher charging and discharging efficiency and longer life than traditional lead acid batteries.

AGM batteries are highly resistant to overloads and short circuits, making them safer to use. They are also maintenance-free and can be used over a wide temperature range.

AGM batteries are often used in various applications such as automotive, solar panels, UPS and other power systems. However, they also have some disadvantages such as higher cost compared to traditional lead-acid batteries and higher sensitivity to overload and over-discharge.
